Athens

This Athens and Nemea wine tour 9-h is an all-inclusive exploration of the city’s classical and contemporary sites. The journey begins in Syntagma Square, where you’ll see the Greek Parliament and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. From there, you’ll move on to Constitution Square and the ex-Royal Gardens. Next on the itinerary is the Panathenaic Stadium, the venue of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896.

During your journey, you will travel along Panepistimiou Avenue, a significant central avenue in Athens. Here, you will encounter three remarkable neoclassical buildings: the National Academy of Arts, the University of Athens, and the National Library. These structures stand out due to their architectural style and beauty. Moving forward, you will arrive at Omonoia Square, a prominent landmark in the city. Continuing the sightseeing tour, you will visit the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Arch of Hadrian, located nearby. The Arch symbolically distinguishes the modern city of Athens from its ancient counterpart.

The most memorable part of the tour is the visit to the Acropolis and the Parthenon, which is the most important ancient site in the city. As you enter the archaeological site, you will pass through the main gates, called the Propylaea, and see the Temple of Athena Nike and the Temple of the Erectheion, which is famous for the Porch of Maidens (Caryatides). After visiting the Acropolis, you will explore Plaka, one of the main quarters of Athens, located at the foot of the Acropolis.

Plaka is a charming and picturesque neighborhood with many shops selling tourist items and art. You will also visit the Roman and Ancient Greek Agora, which is a historical site in this part of the city.
